Mors aequo pede pulsat pauperes tabernas regumque turres
Death knocks by an indifferent foot at the taverns of the poor and at the towers of the kings
Horace, Odes

At the end of 2004, a year marred by cruel killings, senseless religious wars and futile attempts to revive empires of the past, an earthquake reminded us of the frailty of life. Its consequences hit the rich and the poor, the young and the old, the Christian and the Muslim alike.
In these days of grief it is possible to Find Solace in the Protestant Cemetery of Rome.
