Puerto
Rican Boa
(Epicrates inornatus)
The Puerto Rican boa
or “culebrón” is
a common resident of the mogotes and is the largest endemic snake
in Puerto Rico. Although adults can reach 2 metes in length, they
are not dangerous or venomous. Its rapid extinction is due to imported
animals such as cats, dogs and even chickens.
