Distribution

Reindeer is distributed in territories with a colder climate.

Description

Big animal, weights about 120-200 kg. Has very big horns. Winter fur is thick. Summer color is grey brown. Winter color is white and black. Hoofs are big and resemble spoons.

Behaviour

Lives in tundra, taiga, mountains. In winter moves to forests, as there’s no much food in tundra. Reindeer eats grass, mushrooms, in winter finds moss under snow. Sometimes eat little insects. Reindeer can swim. Female gives birth to 1-2 young. Young animals can move after birth.

Human impact

Hunted for horns and meat. Disappearance of forests.
