Distribution

Can be found in any place, forests, steppes, deserts, lowlands, mountains.

Description

General length is 62-72 cm, wing is 41-52 cm, weight 2.1-3.2 kg. Females are larger than males, both sexes have the same coloring. Eagle owl has a big diversity of color, orange, yellow, white, black. Young birds have the same coloring as grown but a little paler.

Behaviour

Nest is a simple pit made by female, usually on the ground. Sometimes though they take left nests of other birds. Laying usually has 2-3 eggs. Female hatches about 30-35 days. Young birds are able to fly at the age of 3 months.
Eagle owl is a predator and eats hares, mice, other birds. Sometimes eats frogs and even fish. It hunt at night but in the North can hunt at the day time.
